PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Raghunathpura started classes from Class I to V from 01 November 1987. The Gram Panchayat of Raghunathpura contributed by providing temporary building and other necessary facilities. As the classes expanded in the Vidyalaya the Gram Panchayat of Raghunathpura also provided additional space and other assistance. In due course, the Panchayat allotted 16.3 acres of land to KVS for construction of its own campus. The first batch of Class X appeared in the CBSE Board Examination in March 1993.
Due to sessional expansion of classes and space constraints in the temporary building it could not be upgraded to Senior Secondary level for about 11 years. With the passage of time the school shifted to its new and spacious campus in January 2000, coinciding with the beginning of the new century. The proposal for upgradation to Science stream was submitted in August 2003 and approved by the organization. Class XI (Science) was started in April 2004. Volleyball, Basketball, Cricket, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Badminton, Indoor-Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess sports facilities are available in the Vidyalaya.
